My wife, Trisha, and I, Greg Bright, had the good fortune of closing on our new Burt Lake home this morning. Our adventure began this past January. After spending the weekend skiing at Nubs Nob, we had the good happenstance of picking up a real estate circular from your office with Bill Widmoyer's listings. Upon arriving back downstate from our trip, I emailed Bill and expressed our interest in buying an up north home that we could use for both winter and summer activities. Bill was extremely responsive, and although our budget was not necessarily in line with the properties available on Burt Lake, he continued to take a strong interest in assisting us in our search.

Throughout early spring and summer, Bill continued to provide us visibility to all properties available and more importantly became an invaluable resource in educating us about the local area and where an investment of this kind might make the most sense. In mid August we made a trip to Alanson to meet with Bill. He had scheduled several property visits on Crooked, Pickerel and Burt Lake. We quickly fell in love with the cottage on Burt Lake that needed plenty of TLC. After a series of offers and counter offers, Bill helped the sellers and ourselves find a happy compromise, and we all agreed in principal to the sale.

Because the cottage did need some renovations, and due to the fact that we were concerned with the septic and general inspection, Bill's work was not yet complete. Although he was not obligated to do so, Bill met with me and several potential contractors, hosted the home inspectors and septic inspectors. Bill most importantly understood what we were looking for in a cottage and assured us that we would not regret our decision. He made this a very positive experience and outcome for my family and me for which we will be ever grateful. And the best news of all...we have a friend in Alanson and on Burt Lake we look forward to seeing again soon!!
